With Australia’s COVID-19 vaccination program now underway, there are many questions being raised by patients, families and carers affected by cancer.
Cancer Council Victoria and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre have produced a fact sheet that addresses some questions about the COVID-19 vaccines for people affected by cancer, which you can download here.
Cancer Australia has also released detailed information about the COVID-19 vaccines to address concerns and questions from people affected by cancer. The responses to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are based on the latest evidence and guidance from around the world, and were developed in consultation with people affected by cancer, cancer clinicians, experts in the region, and the Australian Government Department of Health.
We recommend you discuss your individual situation with your doctor and if you still have questions, anyone affected by cancer can contact Cancer Council on 13 11 20 for information and support. Available 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. If you need a translator to use this service, call 13 14 50.
