Wombat's Wish
Wombat's Wish is a community-focussed not-for-profit organisation that supports children and young people after the death of their parent or carer. Based in Drysdale, the outreach of Wombat's Wish encompasses the entire state of Victoria.The organisation assists bereaved children to find a way to live with loss and grief, and to move forward and take the next steps on their bereavement journey. Its flagship program delivers weekend camps for children and their surviving parent or carer, and it also provides group counselling support and one-on-one counselling services where appropriate. Wombat's Wish delivers therapeutic programs and services provided by a team of professional facilitators, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers and youth workers, in conjunction with trained and qualified volunteers. All services are proudly offered at no cost to families.
