The Federation of Community Legal Centres VIC is the peak body for Community Legal Centres and Aboriginal Legal Services in the state. Community Legal Centres are independent community organisations that provide free legal services to people who face economic and social disadvantage and cannot afford a private lawyer. The centres exist to enable a strong collective voice for justice and equality, using the law as a tool to achieve this. Each centre has different eligibility guidelines as to who they can help, what legal issues they can help with and how much help they can provide. The federation also offers a searchable online platform of Community Legal Centres available across Victoria.
