Cancer Oncology Rehabilitation Program

Eastern Health's Cancer Oncology Rehabilitation Program is a client-centred program where clients, carers and families are supported to achieve their rehabilitation goals. Eligible clients must reside in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne within the Eastern Health catchment area. Participants attend twice a week for seven weeks. Each group session consists of one hour of tailored exercise, followed by one hour of information. Information sessions include practical topics such as fatigue, improving sleep and nutrition, to the more psycho-social with an introduction of community services available such as cancer peer support programs, Feldenkrais and art therapy. All sessions are presented by specialist clinicians and allied health staff. Patients are welcome from various tumour streams and at various stages of treatment. Sessions are provided in a supportive group environment at the Wantirna Health Community Rehabilitation Centre.
