The Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group (AGITG) is an organisation dedicated to improving treatments and survival rates for people with gastro-intestinal cancer, which includes cancer in the digestive organs. The AGITG also runs a community division, the GI Cancer Institute, which increases awareness of gastro-intestinal cancer in the community, and raises funds to conduct new research.The organisation encompasses a wide range of researchers, such as medical specialists, scientists, nurses, allied health professionals and consumers, who work to develop new clinical trial concepts to improve treatment options and the quality of life for people with gastro-intestinal cancer.
