The Bendigo Regional Cancer Centre (BRCC) is the regional hub for cancer services in the Loddon Mallee Region, located within Bendigo Health on the ground floor. It is an integrated cancer centre providing a chemotherapy day unit, cancer clinics, radiotherapy, palliative care, clinical trials and cancer wellness centre. Staffed by a multi-disciplinary team, Bendigo cancer patients have access to a highly skilled medical team who each have sub-specialities to ensure the team has advanced knowledge about the treatment of specific cancers. If more specialised treatment is required, referrals to metro clinical networks enable complete treatment and care. The Chemotherapy day unit provides a wide range of chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, biological targeted therapies, chemo at home program and symptom support as part of the integrated and multidisciplinary Cancer Centre. The radiotherapy and radiation oncologist services are provided through a partnership with Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. The Centre provides oncology outreach services to other towns within the Loddon Mallee region including Kerang, Swan Hill and Kyneton. Their Oncologists visit outreach sites on a monthly basis to enable treatment close to home where possible. In addition, the Cancer Centre offers a range of specialised cancer support services including: Cancer Nurse Coordinator, Breast Care Nurse, Familial Cancer Nurse, Medical Oncology and Urology Oncology Nurse Practitioners. Their allied health team and services include: Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Speech Pathologists and Social Workers and online psychology services. The Cancer Wellness Centre provides a range of evidence-based complementary therapies to help you live well with cancer and assist in improving the physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing of patients and their carers. They offer oncology massage and reflexology sessions, mindfulness and yoga classes along with group workshops.
