Cancer Council is committed to effective and meaningful community engagement and has established a Community Advisory Network comprising hundreds of Victorians who have been affected by cancer who are passionate about improving cancer outcomes for others. Our network includes people who have had a cancer diagnosis as well as carers.
While we also engage with community representatives in our own work, we welcome requests from external organisations who would like to work with our Community Advisory Network members. Involving community representatives in your work will not only enhance the outcome but also ensures that it’s grounded in real experience.
If you would like to engage a consumer from our Community Advisory Network to contribute to your project please complete the form below.
Please Note: The Community Advisory Network (CAN) members share lived experience insights and perspectives. CAN members are not engaged to deliver technical expertise, clinical advice or professional services.
Considerations Prior to Completion of Request Form:
- Plan - Sourcing a suitable community representative can take time, so lodge your request early. Submit 6-8 weeks prior to the intended commencement date.
- Clear and Concise information - Describe the level of commitment for the consumer representative including requested time period, frequency of involvement and deadlines.
- Cost Recovery - Commitment to meet the expenses incurred by the community representative, for example car parking, travel, accommodation and miscellaneous costs.
