Melbourne Marathon

2019 Join the team

Join Team Cancer Council Victoria in this year’s Melbourne Marathon on Sunday 13 October and help make a real difference to the more than 260,000 Victorians living with cancer.

Marathon runnners

Melbourne Marathon is a chance to challenge yourself, set new limits and reduce your cancer risk by being physically active. There are five event distances to choose from, each finishing with a lap of the hallowed turf of the MCG:

  • 3km walk
  • 5km run
  • 10km run
  • Half marathon (21.1km)
  • Full marathon (42.195km)

With your help, we're hoping to raise $15,000 to fund Victoria’s brightest researchers, educate people about reducing their cancer risk and provide the best support possible for people affected by cancer.

We are the only charity that works across every aspect of cancer; we help people from the point of diagnosis through to treatment and beyond.

Why join Team Cancer Council Victoria?

When you fundraise with Cancer Council Victoria, you’ll receive:

  • Expert guidance in fundraising and training from our specialised teams
  • A Cancer Council Victoria sweatband
  • When you raise $150, you’ll receive a Cancer Council Victoria supporter running t-shirt

Gary Freeman, Cancer Council Victoria ChampionI lost my mother in January 2013, after she was diagnosed with an operable cancer.  Around this time, I started running and one of my goals was to participate in an organised fun run. I enjoyed participating in the event and could not have achieved so much without the support of my dedicated supporters and Cancer Council Victoria.

I am looking forward to running again this year in support of Cancer Council Victoria and I hope to raise as much money as possible for them.

We still have a big mountain to climb, but together, we can make a difference.
