Aims and audiences 

This site aims to provide a wealth of information to the communities of people, especially in Victoria, who are affected by cancer. This includes:

  • Important medical information about cancer types, treatments and side effects for people with cancer and their friends and families, as well as the support programs and services available.
  • Details of cancer research being funded and access to the latest research papers, statistics and results from our scientists.
  • Support for medical professionals with details of resources, training opportunities, conferences, and more.
  • Access to the latest prevention messages, dealing with screening and evidence-based behavioural issues.
  • Opportunities to join in the fight against cancer through volunteering, fundraising, corporate support and other initiatives.
  • An explanation of how the Cancer Council Victoria works and details of our media and advocacy work

Medical Information

Medical information explaining the various cancer types, their diagnosis and treatment is developed by working groups with cancer specialists, nurses and people affected by the disease. It's reviewed regularly by members of our Victorian Cooperative Oncology Group. Refer also to our disclaimer.

This site is funded from donations - we do not accept paid advertisements. Sometimes where fundraising and community events are sponsored the logos of sponsors are included in reports of the events. Inclusion of logos does not imply endorsement of the sponsor or its products.
