Chris’ gift for the future

Chris Legge has supported Cancer Council Victoria for over 30 years.

During this time he has enjoyed a successful career in accounting and finance and raised a family with his wife in Hawthorn.

At the end of last year, Chris captained his hockey team to win the final, an achievement he is quite proud of.

“I enjoy doing it because it gives me exercise and a good social network with a bunch of like-minded fellows of a similar age.”

In the last three years, Chris has been an ambassador for Cancer Council Victoria in another group which launched the Venture Grants program in 2013.

In addition to his ongoing support of the Venture Grants project, Chris has decided to leave a gift to Cancer Council Victoria in his Will, because he wants to continue his support for many years to come.

“After ensuring my family is well looked after, I would like one last roll of the dice to support Cancer Council Victoria through a final Bequest in my Will. “A Bequest is really the last opportunity from whatever accumulated wealth one might have to support organisations that have been important in one’s life.”

It is thanks to the future planning of people like Chris that we can continue to provide funding for vital cancer research, prevention and support.
