Types of bequests

After considering your family and friends, you might consider leaving a bequest to us. Whether large or small, your bequest will help us to fund vital cancer control projects that otherwise might not be possible.

When making your Will it's important to seek the advice of an expert such as a solicitor or trustee company. You'll be advised about the different types of bequests available. These include:

  • A specific dollar amount

The exact amount of your estate that you wish to leave to us.
  • Residue: whole

After you've allocated specific bequests, the remainder (residue) of your estate will be left to us. The value of your gift will not be affected by inflation.
  • Residue: percentage

After you've made specific bequests, a percentage of the remainder (residue) of your estate will be left to us. The value of your gift will not be affected by inflation.
  • Specific item

You may wish to leave a specific gift, for example property, shares or a piece of art.

What will my bequest be used for?

Your bequest will play a vital role in supporting life-saving cancer research projects, education and support programs. You may wish to specify how you'd like your bequest to be used, for example, research into a specific cancer.

We recommend discussing your ideas with us, so we can help you find practical ways to achieve your wishes. Please phone Glenis Capps on 9635 5604 between the hours of 9 – 5pm, Monday to Friday to talk to us in confidence.
