Wills & bequests

Suggested Will wording

To include a bequest to the Cancer Council Victoria in your Will, simply provide the following wording to your solicitor. All bequests need to be made to our registered name, which is ‘Cancer Council Victoria’.

You can also specify how you'd like your bequest to be used, e.g. 'For Research'.

Suggested wording

" I give to CANCER COUNCIL VICTORIA ABN 61 426 486 715 *................................ (a percentage or dollar amount) of the residue of my estate free of all duties and deductions to be used for its **................................. (general purposes or research purposes).  The receipt of an authorised officer of the Cancer Council Victoria shall be deemed proof of payment."

*Please insert an amount: Consider leaving a percentage of your estate rather than a dollar amount. If you leave a dollar amount, the value of your bequest could be significantly eroded over time by inflation.

**Please insert the type of bequest: We prefer bequests for 'general purposes'. This gives us the flexibility to direct the funds where they are most needed.

Throughout our 75-year history, bequests have been responsible for enabling many advances in the cancer fight.
