Cancer Council Victoria would like to thank everyone who has been involved in the Arts Awards Program since it began in 1997.
While we are no longer in a position to offer the Program, we are extremely proud of what it has achieved by offering people affected by cancer with the means by which to share their experiences in a creative and meaningful way.
As the program grew, people from across Australia and even overseas became eager to share their artwork with the rest of the Cancer Council Victoria community. Thanks to a partnership with The Dax Centre and University of Melbourne, art therapy workshops were introduced for students who were training to work with those affected by cancer.
The Program has led the way for others to offer art therapy to cancer patients, such as Monash Children's Hospital, Royal Children's Hospital and Olivia Newton John Cancer & Wellness Centre. Anyone who would like more information on this or other support services should call Cancer Council 13 11 20.
