"My volunteer made me feel I wasn't alone."
Talk to someone who understands what you're going through and who knows what it's like to have cancer affect their life and the lives of their loved ones.
Call The Cancer Council Victoria's Cancer Council Helpline on 13 11 20 (for the cost of a local call) and we'll connect you with one of our trained volunteers who has had a similar cancer experience to you.

Cancer Connect is program run by the Cancer Council. It connects people who have cancer with volunteers who have had a similar experience. It's free and confidential. All volunteers undertake a training program and are supported by a program coordinator and the cancer nurses from the Cancer Council Helpline.
Volunteers offer emotional and practical support to people affected by cancer and provide understanding at a time when it's most needed. This support is available at any stage throughout the cancer journey - at diagnosis, during and after treatment.
To talk to a volunteer, simply call the Cancer Council Helpline on 13 11 20 and ask to be linked to the Cancer Connect program.
A cancer nurse will talk to you about your experience and match you to a volunteer according to the cancer type, treatment, age and family circumstance.
The Cancer Connect volunteer will give you a call at home at a time that's convenient for you. Being a telephone peer support program, we can link people all over Victoria with one of our trained volunteers.
We have more than 160 Cancer Connect volunteers who have had a variety of cancer experiences.
The service is free and confidential. The Cancer Council Helpline (13 11 20) is open Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 8pm.
