This free program is facilitated by health professionals. It runs in small groups over one day or four weeks. It's attended by people who have a diagnosis of cancer and their family and friends. It's a chance to learn more about cancer, its treatment and your emotional reactions to it.
Each group has a specially trained LWCEP facilitator who is a health professional, supported by Cancer Council Victoria.
Participants can expect to learn more about cancer and its treatment in a supportive group environment. They can expect an open discussion and some sharing of experiences that will help them to understand they're not alone on their journey and improve their understanding of their changed circumstances.
Programs are held in most Melbourne hospitals (both public and private) some community health centres and in many country hospitals and health services.
