Get one-to-one phone support from someone who understands what you're going through and knows what it's like to have cancer affect their life and their loved ones.
It's free and confidential.
Call 13 11 20 (Mon. to Fri. 9am to 5pm, local call costs) and ask about our Cancer Connect program or submit your details online. You'll be linked with a trained volunteer who's had a similar cancer experience to you in terms of cancer type, cancer treatment, age and family circumstances.
All volunteers are trained and supported by our cancer nurses to offer emotional and practical support.
Cancer Connect: Support for people diagnosed with any type of cancer, along with cancer survivors.
Gene Connect: Support for those who have a higher genetic risk of developing cancer.
Family Connect: Support for family and friends of someone with a cancer diagnosis.
Support is available at any stage throughout the cancer experience – at diagnosis, during or after treatment. We can link you with volunteers from across Victoria who have had a wide range of cancer experiences. Call 13 11 20 or submit your details online to connect to any of these services. A selected volunteer will then give you a call at home when it's convenient.
"It was reassuring to talk to someone who has been through a similar experience to mine. It gave me hope and helped me feel less isolated."
