Aim(s):

  • To examine the impact of clinical practice recommendations for the management of ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the breast on clinical practice.
  • To determine awareness of, and attitudes towards, the recommendations among surgeons treating DCIS, and to examine the relationship between these attitudes and clinical practice.

National Survey of Breast Cancer Management

Aim(s):

  • To describe the current management practices for invasive and non-invasive breast cancer (Ductal Carcinoma In Situ) throughout Australia over a six-month period.
  • To establish a baseline against which to measure changes in treatment practices after the introduction of the NHMRC Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Early Breast Cancer in October 1995.
