Donate for the 1 in 2 who will get cancer

Whether it’s ourselves or someone we care about, all of us will be affected by cancer in our lifetimes. So, it takes all of us to help make a difference.

Cancer Council Victoria is here for everyone affected by cancer, working towards a future where a cancer diagnosis is no longer something to fear.

Right now, that means funding the most promising cancer research to improve treatments, and our understanding, of all cancers, so more people can survive beyond five years.

It means, ensuring those affected by cancer now have access to services, through our 13 11 20 information and support line, with experienced cancer nurses who understand how to help.

It also means working to raise awareness on cancer prevention and partnering with government to support cancer screening initiatives.

It takes all of us to tackle cancer and with your help we can. Because 1 in 2 is too many.

Frequently asked questions about donations

How do I make a donation?

There are many ways you can make a donation. We take donations online, over the phone, and in cash. Now that you're here, the easiest way is to use the form at the top of this page.

Where does my money go?

Your donation will go to supporting Cancer Council Victoria's mission towards a cancer-free future.

  • Cancer research and clinical trials

  • Prevention of cancer through lifestyle education

  • Education about cancer and cancer treatment

  • Support for people diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones

Our mission is to eradicate all cancer. We cannot guarantee that your donation will go directly to ovarian cancer research, for example. Your donation also does not go to Cancer Council Australia, which is a separate organisation. Instead, it will go to local initiatives and support services in Victoria.

Will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes, you'll receive a tax receipt on any donation over $2. This will allow you to claim your donation come tax time. Most donations to charity offer the same benefit.

You can use the tax receipt for your donation to claim a deduction at tax time through the Australian Tax Office's online portal. If you have a personal income tax agent, they can submit the deduction on your behalf.

How do I support through regular giving?

If you're looking to do more than donate on a special occasion, you can! Becoming a regular giver is the single most impactful way you can help people diagnosed with cancer. Regular Giving contributes hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

You can become a regular giver here. You can also get involved in other ways, like fundraising, volunteering, or leaving a gift in memory.
