Discovering new treatments for different types of human
cancer is essential. We have identified the Hippo tumor suppressor signaling
pathway as a potential new avenue by which melanoma, the deadliest form of skin
cancer, could be treated. Using highly efficient laboratory modelling of human
melanoma, we will test whether targeting the Hippo pathway could treat this
disease. Our findings will have the potential to influence treatment of other
cancers too.
