Even small improvements in sun protection can bring meaningful health and economic benefits – including to improve survivorship among people diagnosed with a melanoma. This program of research aims to explore, design, test and optimise a primary skin cancer prevention intervention for delivery within skin cancer screening. The brief SunSmart intervention has been designed to meet consumer needs and health-system demands, with potential for future automation and scale up. The program of work includes an evidence review and synthesis, protocol development, and pilot feasibility study conducted as part of the Australian Centre for Excellence in Melanoma Imaging and Diagnosis (ACEMID) cohort study.
