- It’s a great idea to review your Will every five years or after major life changes.
- To make a Will or change a Will, you should consider all aspects of your life – your wealth and your relatives – and any other potential beneficiaries. Then contact your solicitor who will draft up a document for you to review.
- It’s important to let your family know of your intentions to leave a gift to a charity such as Cancer Council Victoria so that when you pass away there are no surprises and they know that’s what you wanted.
- To make sure your wishes are honoured after you’re gone, try to ensure that your Will is watertight. It’s not 100 per cent non-challengeable, but if you’re very specific about what you want then it should be in there.
