Investment in research provides hope

In 2022, Cancer Council Victoria supported some of the best and brightest cancer researchers across the state by awarding more than $5.4 million in research grants , across a wide range of disciplines.

16 SUMMER VACATION STUDENTSHIPS

were provided to give university students the opportunity to experience what it’s like to work in a cancer research team.

11 GRANTS-IN-AID PROJECTS

were awarded, the projects fund high-quality research which focuses on improving our understanding of the causes, prevention, diagnosis, supportive care and treatment of cancer.

4 POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

were awarded, helping early career researchers establish their careers in cancer research.

4 VENTURE GRANTS

were awarded funding high-risk, high-reward research projects.
