Cancer Council supporters raised over $280,000, which will make a huge difference to people impacted by cancer.

Our inaugural Walking Stars, nighttime half marathon on Saturday 1 December was a great success, thanks to you! Over 1,800 dedicated participants completed a 21km track through Melbourne’s beautiful city – with plenty of Christmas decorations to enjoy along the way.

Our amazing walkers inspired over three and a half thousand donations, which will help fund vital cancer research, prevention programs and support services.

The starlit event was a beautiful sight and created an incredible atmosphere, with many walkers dressing up in glowing fairylights, flashing ornaments and sparkling garments.

"I'm walking for my husband. He passed away nearly two years ago from brain cancer so I thought it’d be a good opportunity to raise some awareness, connect with a few people and share our story," said Jess.
