Clinical Network Executive Committee

The Clinical Network Executive Committee harnesses the voice of clinicians and researchers to improve outcomes for all Victorians affected by cancer. It aims to improve the capacity of the Victorian cancer clinical community through its work in policy and advocacy. The Clinical Network Executive Committee also advises Cancer Council on all clinical aspects of cancer, with these insights complemented by our recently formed Community Advisory Network.

2021 priorities

Our priorities are distilled from our submission to the Victorian Cancer Plan 2020-24 and align with the Cancer Council Victoria Strategic Plan:

  • Recovery from COVID-19 and future pandemic preparedness
  • Providing equitable access to treatment and supportive care – focus on regional and socio-economic disparities
  • Reducing the cost of cancer – focus on VPTAS and car parking
  • Preventing cancer and detecting it early
  • Improving access to clinical trials
  • Psycho-oncology and mental health care
  • Palliative and end-of-life care
  • Increased investment in low survival cancer research.

Members

We recently refreshed the membership of the Clinical Network Executive Committee to ensure that we have a diverse membership and to involve clinicians who may have interest and/or expertise in the line with our policy and advocacy priorities for 2021. In addition to our new Chair and Co-Chair,  we welcomed several new committee members for the 2021–2023 committee term.
