1000 cancer voices needed.

Cancer & COVID-19 vaccine survey.

When the big COVID-19 roll-out decisions are being made, we want the voices of people with cancer to be heard.

So, if you’ve experienced cancer and had the jab, thinking about getting it or decided it’s not right for you, we want to understand where you stand on the COVID-19 vaccine.

Cancer Council Victoria and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (Peter Mac) have joined forces to create the Cancer and COVID-19 Vaccine Survey.

The survey has closed. Thank you to all participants for your time and response.

How will the results of the survey be used?

The survey results will be used to tailor information, communications and strategies for people with cancer to understand and access the COVID-19 vaccine appropriately. It will help us get the right information to the people who need it and ensures people with cancer understand how, where and when they can access the COVID-19 vaccine.

What will happen with my data?

All of your responses will be kept confidential and will only be accessed by members of the survey team, at Cancer Council Victoria and Peter Mac.

The results of this survey may be published. However, this will be in deidentified form which means you will not be able to be identified in any publications or materials that arise from this survey. This includes the use of de-identified quotes.

At the end of this survey, you will be given the option to provide your email address, if you want to receive updates or stay involved in work like this at Cancer Council Victoria. If you choose to provide your email address at the end of the survey, you may be contacted with updates about this work or opportunities to become involved in similar work at Cancer Council Victoria.

Your identifying information, such as your name and email address, will be stored separately from your survey responses and will not be reflected in survey analysis or in subsequent publications or materials. This means your responses to the survey will be de-identified and cannot be withdrawn once they have been submitted.

We will not use your data for reasons other than what has been outlined. If you consent to participating in this survey and are comfortable with Cancer Council Victoria and Peter Mac using your survey responses as described, you will be given the option to consent to participating in the survey, before entering your data.

If you do not consent to participate in this survey, you may exit the survey by selecting the ‘x’ in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

Where do I go for more information?

Cancer Council Victoria’s Human Research Ethics Committee has approved this project so that it meets ethical standards and ensures the confidentiality of participants’ information is protected.

If you have any complaints or concerns about the way this survey is being conducted, please contact the Research Governance and Optimal Care Unit of Cancer Council Victoria at rgu@cancervic.org.au.
