Doctor Nicole Marie Tokatlian isn’t just another faceless victim of a cancer diagnosis, she is a Social Worker, Sister, Daughter, Friend, Animal lover, Vegetarian and my favourite person. She may not have ‘officially’ finished her P.H.D. but she deserves the recognition of all the hard work she did. We joked about referring to her as Doctor from now on and I wanted to continue that because it makes her smile. I will never refer to her in the past tense because no one will ever be as amazing, kind, talented, loving and selfless as she is.
Nothing seemed worthy enough when thinking about creating a lasting tribute to her. This may be the closest thing but she deserves the whole world. The goal of this page is to raise $5000 ( or more ), meaning a research award would be created in her name. Nicole is giving by nature, always looking after others, so much so that even whilst suffering she was worried more about how everyone else felt than herself. Nicole is at peace now, we all miss her desperately. 95 Victorians diagnosed with cancer every day, and by working together, we're drawing closer to a cancer free future. Thanks to you, cancer researchers are working to find the next cancer breakthrough, prevention programs are helping people to reduce their risk of developing cancer, and cancer nurses are there to provide information and support so that no one faces cancer alone. With your help, future generations may be spared the heartbreak of a cancer diagnosis. That is what Nicole wanted. No more heartbreak. Hopefully we can find a cure and make her smile wherever she is.
