Thank you for supporting our Food Fight campaign to protect Victorian kids from unhealthy food and drink advertising on public transport and near schools. This toolkit is designed to help your organisation amplify this campaign through your social media and other communication channels.
Campaign background
Our kids should be free to grow up in environments that support their health. But the processed food industry spends millions each year advertising their unhealthy products in places popular with children, including on buses, stations, and billboards around schools. This advertising has a powerful influence, shaping what our kids eat, want and ask for – and it’s putting their future health at stake.
Since 2022, Cancer Council Victoria’s Food Fight campaign has been calling on the Victorian Government to remove unhealthy food and drink advertising from:
- public transport (i.e. buses, trains, trams)
- public transport infrastructure (i.e. stations, platforms, stops and shelters).
- within 500m of schools
To date, over 10,000 individuals and 40 organisations have thrown their support behind the campaign. Share the campaign assets below to join them and help set our kids up for a healthy future.
