Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative

The Wathaurong Aboriginal Co-operative supports the social, economic, and cultural development of Aboriginal people, particularly within the Geelong region and surrounding areas.It aims to increase and improve access to a range of culturally appropriate health, housing, education, employment and cultural services; contribute to improvements in community wellbeing; and build the capacity of the community to control its own affairs and achieve self-determination.The co-operative provides a range of culturally respectful services including family and community services, support to young people, justice support services and cultural heritage services, among several others. It also runs a community-controlled health service, which supports the general wellbeing of Aboriginal people by providing holistic clinical and primary care services as well as health promotion activities.
