The Bays Hospital
The Bays is a not-for-profit healthcare organisation providing quality acute hospital and residential aged care services to the residents of the Mornington Peninsula.The Bays Hospital provides a comprehensive cancer care service, with an aim to provide ready access to the best cancer care available for local patients. It offers screening and cancer diagnosis, as well as surgery, medical oncology, chemotherapy, a day infusion service and follow up support. The hospital also provides specialised oncology nursing care, diagnostic imaging and pathology. A multidisciplinary team including a McGrath Foundation breast care nurse, prostate cancer nurse, social worker, dietitian, physiotherapists and pharmacists work together with medical specialists to provide support and care throughout the entire cancer journey and ongoing.Haematology care includes clinical treatment and management of blood conditions, including anaemia, Hodgkins' disease, lymphoma, leukemia and myeloma, and thrombosis. Surgery of malignant tumours including prostate, breast, skin, lung and gastrointestinal tumours is performed at The Bays.The hospital also provides information resources and contacts for support networks, prioritising supportive care and education for patients.
