Seymour Health is a small rural health service providing a comprehensive range of clinical health care, residential care, support services and community services for the local community in the Mitchell, Murrindindi and Strathbogie Shires.Located within the dual-purpose Cancer and Dialysis facility, the Seymour Health Cancer Service operates as an outreach clinic of Goulburn Valley Health (GVH) Oncology. This ensures that patients have access to expert oncology advice, treatment and management of their condition.A GVH Oncologist conducts consultations on a three-monthly basis on-site. Chemotherapy and other associated treatments, such as dressing renewals for Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) and port flushes to keep administration lines open are also performed regularly by qualified nursing staff.The health service also provides palliative care, a social support group and a District Nursing Service, which is operated by qualified nurses who can help with stoma care, continence management, carer support and referrals for personal care assistance, among many other conditions and situations.
