Northeast Health Wangaratta is a leading Victorian health service committed to providing quality health care to more than 90,000 people across North East Victoria.It is the major referral facility for people with complex health needs from Bright, Mansfield, Beechworth, Myrtleford, Yarrawonga, Euroa and Benalla, and also provides a telehealth outreach service.The hospital has a 24/7 emergency department and offers an extensive range of healthcare services as well as a residential aged care facility, Illoura.Its oncology unit provides chemotherapy and supportive treatments for people with cancer or other chronic illnesses. Embracing a philosophy of care that respects the individual needs and values of each client, the unit includes a dedicated team of cancer support nurses who support patients with cancer; talk to families of people with cancer; provide information and resources about cancer and treatments; and provide links to healthcare professionals and community services.The unit also runs a Breast and Gynaecological Cancer Service, which provides specialist care and support for people with breast and gynaecological cancers, and a Cancer Wellness and Exercise program for those who are currently having active treatment, have completed treatment or are on maintenance therapy.
