The Financial Rights Legal Centre's Insurance Law Service provides advice and advocacy for consumers in financial stress. The service runs a free telephone and email helpline, which offers advice about insurance problems, as well as an online self-help centre that provides fact sheets, sample letters and guides to help individuals understand and enforce their rights.Issues that the service can provide advice on includes home building and or contents insurance, consumer credit insurance, life insurance, funeral insurance, pet insurance, income protection insurance, superannuation related insurance, travel insurance, motor vehicle insurance (other than CTP), and debts to insurance companies in relation to motor vehicle accidents, among other topics.Importantly, there are a range of issues that the service cannot provide advice on, including business insurance, personal injury, worker's compensation, professional indemnity insurance, public and product liability insurance and health insurance, among other topics.Due to very limited resources, the service can only provide extensive advice or casework assistance if an individual is disadvantaged.
