Cancer Council Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to reduce the impact of all cancers on all people. The organisation works with Victoria's Aboriginal community to reduce the number of cancer diagnoses and deaths, by providing tailored cancer prevention strategies, screening programs and support services to First Nations people during their cancer journey.Services offered include a free and confidential information and support line, wig service, peer support, financial and legal services, holiday break program, nurse counselling and extensive online cancer information and resources specifically created for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.Through Quit Victoria, the organisation also offers an Aboriginal Quitline, which connects callers with Aboriginal Quitline counsellors and helps reduce smoking rates in the Aboriginal community.
