Cancer Australia
Cancer Australia was established by the Australian government and aims to reduce the impact of cancer and improve the wellbeing of Australians affected by the disease. As the lead national cancer control agency, Cancer Australia makes recommendations to the Australian government about cancer policy and priorities, and leads and coordinates evidence-based interventions to strengthen the national strategic focus on cancer control and care. It also provides extensive online information and resources about cancer from prevention to diagnosis, treatment and survivorship, in a range of languages. The agency works collaboratively with a wide range of groups, including those affected by cancer, key stakeholders and service providers, and focuses on populations who experience poorer health outcomes, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people living in rural and remote Australia.
