Simon is an early career researcher in cancer epidemiology. His research interests are in behavioural epidemiology and cancer aetiology, particularly the investigation of potentially modifiable factors with application to cancer prevention and survival.

He is currently working as a research fellow with Prof. Roger Milne on a World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) funded project to assess specific risk factors for glioma using international pooled cohort data from the NCI Cohort Consortium.
