Integrating patient referral to information and support in a hospital setting

Clinician referral to cancer information and support services can influence patient uptake and enhance ability to initiate self-care and maintain quality of life. A recent study using a prescription pad style of routine referral to cancer information and support services showed a positive impact on patients’ behaviour to seek support. This demonstrates how Cancer Councils can be used as an adjunct to supportive care provided in the clinical setting. Read more

Cancer Council calls on health professionals to help lift screening rates in Victoria
