Thank you to those who participated in a quality review of the Financial Assistance Program last year. This has resulted in changes for use of the program and new guidelines being launched in January 2018. NEWS: Victoria’s new Medical Treatment Planning and Decisions Act 2016 commenced this week on 12 March 2018. This will bring about some key changes to how medical decisions are made for people who do not have capacity to make their own decisions. The new legislation applies to all registered health practitioners and paramedics.

Cancer Council Victoria has adopted a new Learning Management System (LMS), allowing us to deliver a range of training and courses online. This will provide greater flexibility, along with new options to support our facilitators and program volunteers.

The Cancer Council Victoria website has had a refresh with a new design to ensure improved navigation to information and support services. Whether using a mobile device, tablet or desktop, the design allows for a greater user experience with content that is easily accessible.

A cancer diagnosis changes lives. It can be difficult to make sense of what the cancer means and how to find answers or solutions to the many concerns that arise. Our Cancer Information and Support Service team is here to assist people affected by cancer receive the support they need.
