Celebrating Life and Hope Through Art

Tuesday 8 September, 2009

Providing a creative voice for Australians touched by cancer, Cancer Council Victoria is proud to tour its inspiring Arts Awards in Kyneton as part of the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival.

The free public exhibition will open on Thursday 3 September 2009 at Mollisons, 116 Mollison Street Kyneton, in conjunction with the Daffodil Arts Prize.

This insightful and moving exhibition brings together the most outstanding works from entrants of all ages who have shared their cancer experiences through visual art, short story, film, poetry and indigenous art, as well as children's writing and art. Judged by high profile experts, each artwork chosen for the exhibition is unique and demonstrates how no two cancer journeys are the same.

All of the artists in this year’s exhibition convey their cancer story with incredible honesty, warmth and courage. By sharing their experience through creative expression, they have a unique opportunity to remember loved ones, help others understand and provide a sense of hope for those affected by cancer.

Kyneton is the first of three destinations including Shepparton and Meeniyan to host the 2009 Arts Awards Exhibition.
