With entries closing soon for The Cancer Council Victoria Arts Awards, Victorians touched by cancer are encouraged to seize the day and start creating.
Entries for the Arts Awards close on Friday 4 April, and provide an opportunity for artists of all abilities to share their cancer experience through creative expression. Categories include Visual Art, Short Story, Film, Poetry, Indigenous Art, and Children's Writing and Art.
"There are only a few weeks to go until entries close, so we hope those intending to enter start their works now," The Cancer Council's Director of Community Relations and Fundraising Deb Stringer said.
"We've had a great response to this year's awards already, and we encourage more Victorians to seize this last opportunity to express their cancer experience creatively through this program," Ms Stringer said.
The Arts Awards, which are themed ‘Seize the day' this year, offer entrants the chance to win cash prizes and to share their works with the public. Following the judging, selected works will be displayed in The Cancer Council Victoria Arts Awards Exhibition, which will begin in Melbourne in July and then tour regional Victoria.
The Cancer Council urges anyone touched by cancer to seize this last opportunity to share their cancer experience and help provide a sense of hope and understanding for those affected by cancer.
