Selection process

Cancer Council Victoria aspires to have a workforce that reflects the diverse community we serve, and as such encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, and from individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

All appointments are based on merit. All applicants are considered based on their abilities, qualifications, experience and standard of work. If you are chosen for an interview, you will be contacted by phone. Reference checks will follow. No referees will be contacted without consent.

You must be able to provide evidence of your right to work in Australia to work at Cancer Council Victoria.

Successful applicants must complete a satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement and, if required, provide a valid Working with Children Check.  In line with current Chief Health Officer Directions and office access provisions under the Victorian Roadmap, the successful applicant will be required to provide proof of full vaccination prior to commencing with CCV.  

All offers of employment will be made subject to satisfactory completion of such employment checks.  

  • Key Selection Criteria

Where the job advertisement states that Key Selection Criteria is required, the document MUST be completed, or your application will not be considered. Please refer back to the job advertisement to confirm whether the Key Selection Criteria document is required.

  • Child Safeguarding

    Cancer Council Victoria has a strong commitment to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and youth. We therefore have robust screening procedures for personnel who are expected to have contact with children in their roles. This will include a criminal record check and referee checks, depending on the role may also include a Working with Children Check.
