Selection process

Cancer Council Victoria aspires to have a workforce that reflects the diverse community we serve, and as such encourages applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, and from individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

All appointments are based on merit. All applicants are considered based on their abilities, qualifications, experience and standard of work. If you are chosen for an interview, you will be contacted by phone. Reference checks will follow. No referees will be contacted without consent.

You must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident to work at Cancer Council Victoria and you will be required to provide proof of your right to work in Australia.

Successful applicants must complete a satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement and, if required, provide a valid Working with Children Check.

All offers of employment will be made subject to satisfactory completion of such employment checks.

Notification

As much as we would love to get back to each individual with an outcome, due to our system limitations and the volume of applications we get, we are only able to communicate with those that we will be progressing further.
If you have not heard from a member of the Cancer Council Victoria team within 2 weeks of the position closing date, this would indicate you have not been successful for the role. If that's the case, please keep checking the Cancer Council Victoria website for future opportunities.

Feedback

Due to the large number of applications we receive, we are only able to provide feedback to applicants that have attended an interview.

Key Selection Criteria

You may be required to address the Key Selection Criteria as part of your application. Where the job advertisement states that Key Selection Criteria is required, the document MUST be completed, or your application will not be considered. Please refer back to the job advertisement to confirm whether the Key Selection Criteria document is required.

Expressions of interest

Unfortunately, due to system limitations and the volume of applications that we receive, we are not in a position to review general expressions of interest in working at Cancer Council Victoria. In order for your application to be considered for an actual role, please review our current employment opportunities, or our current volunteering opportunities. We welcome applications for any roles that are suitable to your skills and experience.

Because we are committed to protecting your privacy and personal information, your personal details and information will only be retained for the recruitment of a particular position (whether for employment, volunteer or student opportunities). You can find our privacy policy here.
