Senate alcopop vote a setback for the health of Australians

A coalition of health agencies has slammed the Senate's decision to reject the alcopops bill. The coalition, made up of the Australian Drug Foundation, Cancer Council Victoria, Turning Point Alcohol & Drug Centre and VicHealth, is adamant that more needs to be done by the Government to promote a safer drinking culture in Australia.

Cancer Council Victoria and the local Relay For Life Volunteer Organising Committee today announced the postponement of the Latrobe Valley Relay For Life event. Initially scheduled to take place on 21 and 22 March, the event will now be held in Latrobe Valley in March of 2010.
