A successful CRM campaign launched in 2007 involved SCA Hygiene Australasia (the makers of Sorbent products). By encouraging shoppers across Australia to buy limited edition Sorbent Daffodil Day products (like toilet paper and facial tissues) SCA and the Cancer Council together raised more than $150,000.
"The funds raised are already impacting thousands of lives," the Cancer Council's Luke Bell said. "They're helping Australians prevent, detect and treat cancers, and also supporting them during times of great need."
SCA's President Mr Paul Thompson says the Cancer Council partnership is an important reflection of the values of both the Sorbent brand and the SCA organisation.
"Throughout our history, we've been committed to supporting our community," Mr Thompson said. "Sorbent has established a trusted place in the hearts and minds of Australians, and this initiative reflects our commitment to giving back to the community."
Through the partnership, SCA provided a significant donation and also launched an extensive advertising campaign, which helped raise awareness of Daffodil Day.
"SCA is excited about extending the project into 2008, so we're looking forward to seeing this initiative grow," Mr Bell said. "Other supporters can help ensure the partnership's success by choosing Sorbent Daffodil Day tissues and toilet paper in August."
During the Daffodil Day campaign shoppers were motivated to purchase SCA products with the Daffodil Day design where a percentage of each sale went to The Cancer Council. The success of the campaign was reflected by the fact that SCA exceeded their monthly sales targets and in turn provided a significant donation to The Cancer Council. SCA also launched an extensive advertising campaign including a TV commercial, which helped raise awareness of Daffodil Day.
