Genetic evidence from many investigators, including our own laboratory, has indicated that the gene ST7 is involved in the development of many different types of cancer. We will use a variety of gene analysis technologies to investigate how ST7 influences cancer development. Because ST7 appears to represent a completely novel class of tumour suppressor, our investigations may uncover previously unknown targets for anti-cancer therapies.
