This study relates the timing of tobacco policies, tobacco control expenditures and tobacco control media campaigns in secondary school student smoking using data from the triennial Australian Secondary School surveys of Alcohol and other Drugs (ASSAD) from 1990 to 2008.
It also links tobacco policies and media exposure from campaigns and tobacco-related news coverage to the likelihood of quit attempts and smoking cessation among smokers in a cohort study as part of the Australian arm of the International Tobacco Control Policy Study between 2002 and 2008.
