New therapeutic targets for breast cancer are urgently required. This application focuses on a protein known as LRH-1, which we have previously shown to mediate oestrogen production in breast tissues. We will show that LRH-1 stimulates breast cancer proliferation in animal and preclinical models, and demonstrate the utility of blocking LHR-1 function, using novel inhibitors, as breast cancer therapy.nuclear receptors, endocrinology, cell proliferation, transgenic mouse, mammary gland cancer.
