Cut your cancer risk education session

Did you know one in three cancers are links to avoidable risk factors?

This workplace education session provides practical, evidence-based information about cancer prevention. In this session the Cancer Council will present an overview of its seven core messages about how employees and their families can cut their cancer risk through healthy lifestyle decisions. The following will be discussed:

  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Limit alcohol
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Be physically active
  • Be SunSmart
  • Quit smoking
  • Check for unusual changes and have regular screening tests

Men's cancer information sessions

Prostate and bowel cancer are the two most common cancers in Victorian men accounting for about 5,800 diagnoses each year. A healthy lifestyle or appropriate screening can reduce the impact of these cancers.

Women's cancer information sessions

Breast and cervical cancers are two important cancers affecting women in Victoria. Healthy lifestyle choices and participation in screening programs can help women to prevent these cancers or detect them at an early stage when treatment is more likely to be successful.
