Most common forms of cancer


In 2007 our then Director, Professor David Hill, recorded this message as part of a series of videos. Professor Hill has since retired after 44 years of service to Cancer Council Victoria.

Professor David Hill, Cancer Council Victoria:

One of the most common forms of internal cancer is prostate cancer followed by bowel cancer, and in women the most common form is breast cancer followed by bowel cancer.

The most lethal forms of cancer, that is, the number that kills the most people are, for men lung cancer. That's because of the history men have had of smoking. And for women it's breast cancer.
