Cycle Eastlink Highway to raise funds

Get a sneak peak at the new EastLink with a once-in-a-lifetime cycling opportunity on Sunday 15 June and raise funds for The Cancer Council Victoria.

EastLink is Melbourne's new tollway between Ringwood and Frankston opening on 29 June 2008. This is your one and only chance to ride along EastLink with thousands of fellow cyclists of all ages and abilities. And the best bit is there will not a car in sight!

All 3 events start and finish at the Tom Wills interchange (Monash Freeway). Entry to the Cancer Council fundraising event costs $39 for singles and $108 for families. Choose from:

• EastLink Cycling Challenge: The full 65km loop starts at 8am. This timed race will allow you to test yourself or compare your time with competitive cyclists and raises funds for The Cancer Council Victoria.
• EastLink 30km Fun Ride: Starting at 9.30am and organised in partnership with Bicycle Victoria. Free entry.
• EastLink 10 km Family Ride: Starting at 9.30am and organised in partnership with Bicycle Victoria. Free entry.

After your ride, head to the Festival site on EastLink near Maroondah Highway for a fun-filled festival day from 10am to 4pm. Information, community entertainment and an access point for walking through the EastLink tunnels will be available.

All entries received by Friday 6 June will go in the draw to win some fantastic prizes including: a new Argon 18 Plutonium Road bike valued at $1499, 2 tickets on the 2008 Great Victorian Bike Ride valued at $1550, lunch with Phil Liggett where 6 lucky participants will have a table at the Jayco Bay Classic VIP Marquee in January, plus a range of Shimano products valued $2500
