World Cancer Day and smoke-free environments for children

Thursday 31 January, 2008 Monday 4 February 2008 is World Cancer Day and to mark the occasion the International Union Against Cancer (UICC) is launching a campaign to promote smoke-free environments for children.

The campaign sends a simple message to parents: "Second-hand smoke is a health hazard for you and your family. There is no safe level of exposure to second-hand smoke. Give your child a smoke-free childhood."

Add your voice to the chorus!

The first call to action of the campaign is to add your name (and your organisation's name if you have the authority) to an appeal addressed to parents, health professionals and policy-makers to protect children from second-hand smoke.
